SIMbiosis: banks and operators united against fraudsters.

Credit organizations and mobile operators have joined to fight fraudsters who issue SIM cards using fake documents and then gain access to online banking accounts. The largest financial institutions informed Izvestia about this. Banks began to block SMSs containing confirmation codes for monetary operations if the subscriber switched to a new mobile provider having kept the phone number. Mobile operators released a service that allows financial institutions to receive data on actions with a SIM card. This is an effective method of protection, experts say. However not all credit organizations use it.
